Jørgen Møller Hansen Flare 1988

First up was the Flare followed by the 1991 Rokkaku, both gifted to the Collection by Scott Skinner in February 2025.

It was fairly grey through the morning and occasionally there was a small amount of drizzle.

The kites were flown in fairly close proximity until an accidental touch sent both kites plunging to the ground outside the arena. This was not good from the organisers view...

The wind gradually dropped through the afternoon but then picked up quite considerably for a while after c16:15 to the extent that was too much for the 3m Rokkaku kite which began to oscillate from one side of the wind window to the other eventually making contact with another kite and hitting the ground. Release was not complicated and there was no damage.

The kite was packed along with the banners and the Flare was brought down c16:40pm as it was also suffering from the higher windspeed!
