Sixteen fliers took to the air at about 3:20pm for the The Artevento Flying Circus Performance led by Sébastien Clarke and Chris Goff; the exact line-up follows. Felix Mottram was on the camera and captured a series of images, mostly with the Valundra flying saucer in the middle of the frame.
Fliers were Ashley, Johnny, Stephen, Chris, Henri, Andy, Lisa, Helen, Aude, Ronan, Dominic, Jessica, Jim, Lynn, Sébastien and Philippe. It was a radio assisted session thanks to Philippe.
We had not anticipated a formal arena spot for the Jørgen Møller Hansen kites but 4:30pm on Saturday afternoon was recorded on the official printed agenda that we were given on the first evening. The Sébastien Clarke and Chris Goff Circus Performance was a later addition to the Saturday afternoon agenda.
Four Rokkakus and four of the 1992 Not Zen sails were flown adjacent to each other in the arena. It was low key and there were no issues with the wind speed. It was about 5:00pm when the performance finally started. Just prior to the launch of the Rokkakus a Thai fighter kite plunged from the sky and pierced one of the Rokkaku sails.
The fliers have been identified. It was Jim, Lynn, Johnny and Andy on the Not Zens and Ashley, Philippe, Aude and Sébastien on the Rokkakus.
