Prior to Cervia 2024 the frame had been rebuilt using 1cm Exel carbon rods for uprights and Rev 1.5 4 wrap centres and Rev 1 4 wrap outers cut down slightly and internally ferruled. The documentation of this work is missing!

At Aberdyfi the kite was flown in much stronger wind conditions very successfully but was damaged at the end of the day.

Back in London the kite was prepared for repairs on July 2nd.

The main sail damage was located and the two broken spars identified.

A previous sail damage had been spotted on the kite field at Aberdyfi.

The upper left sail had been split along the edge of the horizontal spar tube.

The spar tube fabric had also been cut along the edge of the dacron element of the tube where it had been stitched and then over stitched with a zig zag.

The one spar was well and truly broken at the ferrule end point.

The patch fabric was secured with adhesive film before sewing in place with the three step zig zag stitch.

The repair is reasonably discrete and not too visible against the light.

The spar tube fabric has been secured using sail repair tape. There are other areas where the spar tube fabric has been worn through.

We had added a loop to the little bit of stick at Aberdyfi but a 'proper' peg has now been put in place

Given the extra diameter of the peg the additional loop has been discarded.

c15mm has been added to the top centre bridle line as in the video it looked tighter than the other lines and seemed to be causing greater curvature of the horizontal spar.

The other small sail repair has been addressed as at 9th July!

Note to self, bow lines may help to keep the sails organised if looped together and tied off...

...the bridle can then hang from the correct side of the sails!

Packed apart from cross spars which needed to be left for glue to set and to be remarked.
